Shirt 1

As part of our 'Winter In Bloom' project we had to produce a half-scale size shirt. To help make this we already the pattern cut for us.

What we had to remember when it came to drawing the pattern onto the calico was to leave room for the seem allowance (which would be halved as we were only making a half-scale shirt).

(Top right and Second image down from the top right - Finished half-scale shirt)To start of I drew round the pattern pieces for the front and back. Since this type of half-scale shirt is an open front shirt I cut the front out into two separate pieces and the back as one piece cutting it on the fold of the fabric.

(Third and Fourth image down from the right - Left and Right side of the front of the shirt)

To draw round the pattern pieces onto the calico I used tailors chalk and to then cut the calico shirt pieces out I used fabric scissors.(Fifth, Sixth and Seventh image down from the right - Sleeve pattern piece and completed sleeve, Cuff pattern piece and completed cuff and Collar pattern piece and completed collar).
